Educational Proposal Group Meeting #2 Minutes

Wednesday June 25, 2008

5:00-5:30, 7:20-7:30 p.m.

 Attendees:  Bettyann East, Ann Routh, Pavinee Prachachalerm, Bo

         Absentee:  LaTrenda Terrell

 Our group decided on the following elements of the school:

1)      The program will be an after-school program that will focus on teaching students life skills that can help then transition into the real world. 

2)      The target group will be students of grade 9-12 who are not struggling in school.

3)      The school will have approximately 200 students.

4)      The school will be funded by a grant.

5)      The classes which will be taught so far will be computer-training, cooking, banking (saving $), photography, writing resumé, interview skills, and keyboarding.

6)      Tentative time for classes is from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. (M-F).

7)      The use of space will be one building with several rooms that will different functions.

We have also assigned each member to complete the following tasks:

1)       Bettyann-Budget and grant

2)      Ann-Mission Statement, a picture of the location

3)      Bo-Curriculum

4)      Pavinee-Taking minutes

5)      LaTrenda-Location and Plan for the building
