Educational Proposal Group Meeting #3 Minutes

Monday June 30, 2008

5:00-5:30 p.m.

 Attendees:  Bettyann East, Ann Routh, Pavinee Prachachalerm, Bo, LaTrenda Terrell

          1. Our group shared what we had done so far. 

a)      We discussed the modulars of the building and the location plan. 

b)      The proposed after-school program will receive funding from the Rockefeller Foundation. 

c)      The building will either be the 24” x 40” ($400/month to lease, $30,000 to own, $2,500 to set up, $1,200 to deliver) or the

      24” x 60” modular ($900/month to lease,

$38,000 to own, $2,500 to set up, and $1,200 to deliver.)  Information was obtained by LaTrenda from the Williams & Scott website.

d)     We reviewed a few photos taken by Bo from the Boys and Girls Club in Redlands. 

Bo also shared some books called Sound Bites that have some food recipes that could taught as a math lesson which could be one of the future classes taught at the proposed after-school program.

e)      For the next meeting, we will discuss the graduation requirements for high school which will help determine what kind of classes will be taught at the after-school program.
