Educational Proposal Group Meeting #4 Minutes

Wednesday, July 2, 2008

5:00-5:30 p.m.

 

Attendees:  Bettyann East, Ann Routh, Pavinee Prachachalerm, Bo, LaTrenda Terrell

1.      We discussed the course of study and picked a few possible classes that could be taught in the proposed after-school program.  The course of study of 2007-08 school year was from Carter High School in Rialto USD.  Possible classes that correlate with the subject areas are as followed: 

a)       Math-Cooking, banking

b)      Writing-Job training skills (e.g. writing a business letter, keyboarding, and creating a resume.)

c)       Reading-Note-taking skill, creating a newspaper.Tentatively, the program will be a 6-week curriculum.

Its schedule will be from 2-4 p.m. M-Th.  Each class will be 50

minutes long.

For example:  Mondays:  1st class: 2:00-2:50

                                  2nd class: 3:05-4:00

              Tuesdays: 1st class: 2:00-2:50 

                             2nd class: 3:05-4:00                      same schedule for Wednesdays and Thursdays.

  

2.   For next meeting, we will discuss the website of the proposed after-school program and try to finalize our curriculum and class schedules along with the budget planning and location plan.
